My favorite verse has always been 1SAM 2:1-10
Comment by Salena H
I am 22 years old and I have made a few mistakes in my life. So now that I am trying to pick myself up off the ground I have alot of obstacles that I have to overcome. I have 2 life verses. Isaiah 55:17 and Romans 8:28
Comment by Martha M.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
I will say this verse during a time when there are heavy concerns on my heart and when trying to make decisions. This reminds me that God is in control, pray, and listen to his still small voice.
Comment by David
1 kings 17:1 – In the Spanish version, it says about Elijah the tishbite, who is in the presence of the Lord (in English it says he Serves the Lord), and it’s important because that’s the way I want to behave: knowing that I am always before His presence, and I only want to please Him.
Also, Matthew 5:38-48 – All about showing love against ungratefulness, adversity and offense, like my God did to me in order to be saved by Him.

Hi,
There are different verses from God that answer different situations in life……But unless you understand the whole of Scripture and it’s purpose, then you just have a handbag full of sayings, that are like a bandage for the dying, when you need all of the medicine for the cure.
The full Gospel….not just parts and pieces.
If Christ is the answer….What is the question? Do you know the Scripture?

Comment by Child of the King
In times of Stress or trials
I find this verse encouraging
Philippians 4 v 13 “I can do all things through Christ which strentheneth me.”
No matter what we have to go through in life or endure Jesus has promised us he will help and strengthen us and bring us through it.
Comment by Shelley
The Lord taught me a huge lesson through the verse the PP (Child of the King) spoke of.
Philippians 4:13, was one scripture that helped me step out in faith when I thought I was too weak and incapable of doing what the Lord had asked of me. It was a giant step for me, and I was afraid to do it. With the good counsel of a brother in Christ he told me to pray and believe according to the promise of this verse.
So I prayed believing the Lord for it.
I knew God’s word was true because of what he did when he saved me. That was my proof and I believed it the day I came to Christ. My life was so changed, so why not trust his word now and believe him for it?
So I did. I stepped out in my fear exchanging it for faith, believing Jesus for his strength and not my own. He did not fail me, not once when I stepped out and did what he asked!
He never ceases to remind me that we can do all things through Him, because he supplies us the strength to do it. Our human effort is not a match for his strength.
Fear can easily become a stronghold in our life when we don’t believe God for his word!
The truth is We CAN do all the things HE asks of us when we trust (BELIEVE)that He will do his work through us for his will and glory.
Praise HIM!

Comment for Doug;
There are many verses we can use to point people to the Christ,
the Son of God, and our Saviour. The Book of John has some
6 dozen “I AM” verses we can use to identify that Christ is the way. These are of special interest and use. John 10: 9, John 11: 25,
John 14: 3, John 14: 6, and John Chapter 1. Hope these are of help to you as they have been to me.

Comment by Mr. Tommy
I suppose that the scripture that sums up my life today is found in the following: (2 Tim. 4.6-8)…….”For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand”…….”I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”…….Not as Paul based his supposition on the times in which he lived but I base mine upon:
(Psalm 90.10)…….”The days of our years are threescore and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off and we fly away”…….This particular scripture is important to me because as of Dec. 15, 2009 I will have reached 75 years of age, If God wills.
And as many of you have quoted this passage already, I find it to be a very good way to live. (Prov. 3.5-6)…….”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding”…….”In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”…….
And his final passage is one that I found one morning while taking a leadership class and it has been on my mind ever since as a constant reminder of what God means to me and what I mean to God.
(Lamentation 3.21-23)…….”This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope”…….”It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not”…….”They are NEW EVERY
MORNING: Great is thy faithfulness”…….Do you realize that because of this we are going to live forever…Amen and Amen.

Although there are some very close seconds, my favorite Bible verse has long been Titus 2:14 which, by personalizing the pronouns comes out, “The Lord Jesus gave Himself for me to rescue me from all wickedness, and to make me a pure person who belongs to Him alone and is eager to do good.”
Comment by Douglas Summers
Hi Hank,
Amen! The Gospel of John was written exactly for that.(20:31). But the Full Gospel is not being taught or preached. The Church and the purpose of the Church and all that God is doing is left as a puzzle in a box that is not put together yet.
There is an Ethenic Division of the Scripture…The Jew, The Gentile and the Church of God.(1 Cor.10:32). There are also these periods in time. (The times of the Gentiles)(The fullness of the Gentiles)(The restoration of Israel).
For example, one of the brethern signs in as a child of the King. We are not children of the King (Christ). We are son’s of God and Christ is our brother. Christ is King….but not of His Church. He is head of the Church…and we are the body.
These are correct Doctrine that the Church must understand to walk in harmony with the head.(1 Cor.12:14-27). Illustrated in word(Eph.5:30-32). The visible church has settled down where Satan’s throne is! (They live under the principles of this world or age).
I hope you can understand what Is being said. To many are asleep.

Romans 12:1-2
Salena H., there isn’t a Scripture for Isaiah 55:17; do you mean 55:1,7; or 55:1-7; or 55:7 … etc.?

Hebrews 12:2-3
2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Love thy enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, And pray for those who persucute and miss use you.
I have to say this one everyday of the week before I go to work.
Comment by Douglas Summers
Mimi,
As all true believers are part of the body of Christ, the stronger parts are to strengthen the weaker parts. We are set in that body (not by self will) but by the soverigen will of God, till we all come to the maturity and sound body (unity in one TRUTH and one Spirit)Honoring itself in love to the head of the body, Jesus The Christ(The Epistle to the Ephesians) Read it.
So, while we may minister unto you in your weakness, It is only God in Jesus Christ who gives the increase of Spiritual Faith…not human faith. There is a difference between the two.
What Scriptue is saying, Trust God in Jesus Christ. Search out the Scripture’s to see if things are true. Ask God and He will show you. Because of Christ work upon the cross, We can pray directly to the Father, Amen.
BTW, if you are suffering from depression, it will interfere with emotional rationalizing, detouring faith in God. TRUST JESUS.
In Christ
