Bankruptcy?
Is bankruptcy something a Christian should consider, whether personal or business? The Bible instructs us to pay our debts, not to escape from our responsibilities. Is there ever a time that bankruptcy is the right thing to do?

As a false tithing system is forced upon the poor, bankruptcy may end up being the only alternative for some.I believe God ‘supplies all your needs according to …..’, but when false doctrine is mandated for acceptance in ‘christian chuches’, the rules are then forced to change.Sad indded!

Bankruptcy is a God given grace. first given to Israel. If we lived under the principles that God gave us in human government…things would be much better.
But the Church is not under the Law, but under Grace, and being born again of the Spirit of God…we go beyond the flesh and letter of the Law, and are a living sacrafice of the Spirit of the Law…Amen.

Well I had filed for bankruptcy once, and well it ruined my life, it was hard to find a job, and I got fired because of it too. But my ex husband said it was the only way to go. Well, later on I found myself in debt again and got with a debt repayment place, and its great. I pay off my debt and lose nothing.

(Deuteronomy 15:1-2)
“At the end of every seven years you shall grant a RELEASE OF DEBTS. Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the LORD’s release”
Some worship Almighty God….some worship money.

Greetings all –
Although I tend to agree with Doug’s statements here, I think it’s worth mentioning that sometimes we get in difficult situations because of the decisions we have made. When that’s the case we have to endure the consequences and pray for restoration, hopefully learning from our mistakes. A Pastor friend of mine once advised me that “we can’t fix everyone’s problems, sometimes they are there for a reason.”

I hve massive debt issues and they are through my own wrong choices. I chose a partner who had to be removed, but i had to stop working to protect children, then he pays nothing and gives nothing, so i hav that to deal with and still am, many years later. I take responsibility for the wrongful past choice.
On other counts whre the debt was part of the abuse, i sepnt two years in court fighting over it cos they were driving us to further poverty paying anothers debts. A long slog against much misogyny and reabuse, but i won in the end. Advocating for self too – God was all i needed with me – and filled with spirit. Ok my tenacity and courage too, but that also is God given!
(Sidebar Doug, i have now been officialy declared as having an insidious psychotic illness – on grounds of faith – and yeah even dated to where faith was full and complete as start date! My children are now at risk of mental health disorder cos of my and their faith and shouldnt be here, and they are too be deemed insane too! Go figure. I’m fighting this of course cos it is prime evil – but i smile and think, i guess it is rather flattering to be described as insane by one who holds views entirely the reverse of scripture and Faith and God. If she found me sane – I really really would question my sanity!:-) The fight heats up! )
I just plough on with money, it doesnt matter, its a nonsense. If I have no money at all, God always provides a solution, every time. Riches in him alone count.

Bankruptcy….Declaring bankruptcy as a legal means of escaping debt [taking advantage of], was not an option during the biblical period. If a person could not repay his debts back in Bible days, his creditors could seize his property until sufficient payment was deemed to have been made, or the debtor himself could be sold into slavery or imprisoned. What a choice. Either way you have had it….It is a broad subject in today’s world! High interest rates are, well, God hates it. Keeps you, pay,pay,pay. Crooks are taking strong advantage of the little man. This must stop. Immediately! For all born-again believers, please; stay in prayer. If the believer has any inklings that something is not on the up and up, God will tell you what to pay. “Thou shalt not steal”, does not only refer to men holding up banks. Stealing…comes in all shapes and colors. God will let His people>know. God knows what is right and what is wrong. We need God to help us.

Hi Shona,
)
Count it all glory when we suffer for the name of Christ. If it is only in this life we have hope in Christ…We are of all men most miserable…But that’s not the case…

Shona and All;
Shona, get away from these people that keep labeling and stereotyping your with some mental illness.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Thankyou Doug, i have been talking (off record) to A Christian psychiatrist, he sure sees im very sane and gifted by spirit and described as Joan of Arc like, and that is not the first time that has been said either – they will not win, they cannot. They could do anything to me and they are still losing. They ‘hate’ the fact i am alsways still right there, and joyous and fighting and nothing they can do can break me.
Thankyou so much Ceseeley, such an apt verse. I/WE cannot get away right now, perhaps not ever given situ, but they make a rod for their backs so long as they hold us, cos i, through spirit just grow stronger and will ensure this never happens to another family again because of them – and they have been told that, point blank, they will crawl out over the space between my neck or suffer, cos spirit now guides me, carefully, nother direction, some, still there to work with for God, some, very much not – and action, bring them down bigstyle, they thought they were taking advantage of my good nature before, what they did not realise is its not my nature, it is patience, and spirit and discernment and always God and salvation first no matter what they do.
They are now trying to stop family discussion on God and infer all children must stay away from our home.
I do not think so.
Not only do i have my kids going to Church tomoz, but an extra too.
They will not defeat a worker for God.

I not worry about it, matter of fact Jesus said it in Matthew 6:25, Do not worry about your life. Plus remember what Psalm 23 mean? The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in what…

Psalm 37:21
The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously
The late Larry burkett of crown.org says as christians, we must repay what we owe.
