Life on other planets?
If life was discovered in outer space / on another planet, how would that affect your faith / beliefs? Does it matter if it is unintelligent life, i.e. animals vs. intelligent life, i.e. other sentient beings?

Hi, There is no life on other planets or God would have told us. As far as that goes…there is not a lot of life here, except those in Jesus Christ. Everything else is dead. Matt. 8:18-22; Gen. 1:-2:3.

I’m sure most in this blog have had someone who asks about this question. My grandson just out of high school asked me about it by asking about UFO’s. There is so much interest in going to Mars, seeing if their is any microscopic proof of some kind of sign anything to disprove us extreme right wingers who insist that evolution is wrong and God created it all. Like one leading evolutionists answered when asked why he believed in evolution, he said because the only other alternative was creation. It is all part of Satan’s lie, “Has God indeed said” (Gen 3:1, NKJV). I usually take such questioners to the verses that proves we are all sinners and then to a verse that Christ died for sinners mentioning the world (John 3:16). Then show in Revelation that when He is through with His plan for this earth He makes a new earth and heavens. The whole Bible teaches of His plan for this world, earth. No, it doesn’t bother me, but it does bother those who do not have an assurance of eternity with the Lord and they need us to take time and show what the Bible really says about this earth.

That is a good question. It is possible that the Hebrew word (bara’)which means fashion; shape; form could actually be saying that God transformed the world. Perhaps, there was another world that existed prior to the demon angels being cast out of heaven. We know from Paul’s heavenly experience that there are three heavens and we are limited in our ability to see it all. We also know that there is intelligent angel beings living in the third heaven. Satan himself enters the throne room of God to accuse the believers. It would not affect my belief at any rate. A God who could create heaven, earth, angels and life could create or put life anywhere in this universe. He is a creator and almighty in His works. After all the God who placed Pleaides and Orion in the heavens is capable of creating any life form He wants and I would choose to worship Him no matter what.

Catherine , you are soooooo correct in your reasoning. this is one of satans tools of doubt he uses to confound the saved.fact is he wants us back.We receive our blessings through faith and the word of God ,Jesus Christ.
this is going to sound weird, but most unexplained phenomina U.F.O.s, big foot,loch ness monster are true to a few whom actually saw them ,just enough to pose questions concerning validity.and then? gone. every thing satan does is short lived .The faithful know this by the holy spirit guiding our journey.

I feel that they are very demonic. the occult,extrestal and UFO go hand to hand. I personally seen a couple UFO’s, I don’t swallow they are life from another planet or solar system.
God created man in His image, man is smarter than we want to give credit for. I work with high tech, and seen whats out there, man is capalble of making floating aircraft.
If God wanted to create life in outside this earth, He can, But, why? God interacted with us humans, making a way of salvation, loving us, taking care of us being a “daddy” to us.
God wants us to show a dying World, That Jesus the Christ is the way the truth and the way.

By the way, I did find a title for the passage: Sermon on Mars Hill in NASB but that isn’t a word “Mars” in His Scripture.

Nothing is impossible for the Lord to create life on the other planets. He can do that if He wants to do that for His Glory. Only the Lord knows the answer to all this questions.

Like everyone who has posted; I don’t believe in UFO’s or Space Alien’s coming to check us Out Etc.
When I was young I sort of Thought “Just Maybe”. The Bible mentions no other planets here or some far off galaxy having super-intelligent species. Some Unbeliver asked me Once how could I be so certain?
My answer was; Do you think God wouod create a species with an Intelligence level far superior to what we have then let them get here and visit us? Would’nt humans create gods out of these people?
There is enough Idoltary here without having the “Mac Daddy” of all Idols show up in a Spaceship!
There is a radio show on overnite called “Coast to coast AM”. Every conceivable weirdo and unbeleiver comes on this show. “UFO”s” Every imagination discussed. You even have so-called “Bible Experts” on there trying to diss God’s Word. I listen ab out 5 minutes per week to see what the latest Lie they are discussing..Great Entertainment!

…One last thing; We know we are in the last of the last days. According to one sourse I read about; Look for mpre and more apparitions of “Virgin Mary” worldwide being reported. The soon coming One-World Religion (Headed by the RCC) will use this to draw more and more gullible to their ranks. Since this is only an opinion not Bible based I will just leave it up to everyone IF what this person says actually happens. If it does you read it here first..

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the description of Cherubs in Ezekiel 10:1-20. If Satan is a cherub or rather was the anointing cherub that covered around God’s throne like the golden ones over the Mercy Seat (Ezekiel 28:14). Having such an exalted position around God’s throne brought pride into his heart to be like God (Ezk. 28:15; Isa. 14:12ff) and brought his fall. Sinning against perfect knowledge brought him eternal unforgivable condemnation. Could God be allowing at times our eyes to see these heavenly creatures with chariots of fire all around as He did for Elisha in 2 Kings 6:17?
What we do know for sure is that the antichrist will take power with lying wonders to deceive the whole world into the worship of the image (2 Thessalonians 2:9). However, the Lord always has His believing remnant and in the last days of Daniel’s 70th week when those in all nations, tribes, and especially those in backsliding Israel will be saved. Things to think about- what kinds of deceiving lies will be allowed of God for Satan to use to come into power?

“Ariospagos” is Greek for Mars Hill
….don’t be deceived. Be sure to read Proverbs 26:19.

Historicly searching some ancient history, you would find “Mars”as the roman warrior god. the Greek counterpart is “Ares” God of war and violence. Paul visioned all these false Gods as believing in superstition. Why would a roman god be in athens? this is only a half hearted educated observation.

After Billions upon Billions of tax Dollars spent on Mission to Mars programs….The other day on Mars; The Mars “Rover” sampling soil found out the soil is made up of some bad poison which could never support life. In Other Words they were getting ready to send Astronauts there in a couple years..now that’ll be scrubbed! Way to go!! Maybe they’ll try Venus next another few Billion here and there..Ha Ha!

The First Post says it all, and the seventh post made me chuckle and then I realized the irony in the verse:

The question I believe was “If” it isn’t about whether there is or isn’t. So to entertain the question “If” I would answer, “No, it wouldn’t change my Faith in Christ. I did not accept Him as my personal savior because of that, I accepted Him because I was truly a sinner needing to be saved.”
I would admit its fun to think about Christians preaching the Gospel to Aliens on other Planets. (Christian Star Trek?)

The vastness of the universe is beyond our comprehension. There are billions of galaxies that closely resemble our own Milky Way Galaxy. To think that our planet is unique in that it supports life is naïve. Simply because it is not written does not alleviate the possibility. I believe in God but that doesn’t mean that I should have a closed mind.

Hi I was looking for something else but God led me to see these posts for a reason. Psalms 148:5 says “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.” Now who are them and they? I dont believe in UFO’s but I do believe in living creatures in other planets. According to this Psalms them and they are other living creatures living in other heavens and planets. Paul talked about three heavens and Enoch talked about seven. In Ephesians 3:8-10 says “To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalties and powers in the hevenly places.” What does this mean? The last scripture said it all, that we are going to preach to principalties and powers in hevenly places. UFO’s and aliens do not exist only living creatures created by God and if you do believe God will let you see those creatures and take you to them to preach to them. God gave us something so special and that is that we are a mere image of him and as such we wants to bless us with a gift like this but we dont believe. Why do you think that people cant see angels? Their faith is not big enough to be able to. But God has so many mysteries. We had this talk last night with my Pastor and I was looking to see for some stories of people that might have gone already to preach to these creatures there but now I know why I cant find any. They’re scared that people would make them out as crazy. I have more scriptures if anyone wants them. What makes you think God would have “told us” if there were other civilizations in this vast cosmos? He didn’t have to tell us that. We’ll find it someday – although I doubt within our lifetime. Do you really believe God made all this just for US lowly humans?

Wow… there’s a lot of ignorant and closeminded people here. Yes there is life on other planets. The universe is infinitely big… and it’s something our mind’s cannot fully process or even begin to contemplate. If life has a billion to one odds… there would be multiple planets in our own galaxy that would contain life. Now multiply that by the infinite number of galaxies.
I like how christian people get all up in arms over this question because it would go against what their so called “god” said. It’s a simple question that you need to have an open mind about and think about it for a few seconds. Don’t just dismiss it because something in a book told you to.

I do not see how believing that life exists on other planets can ruin a person’s faith.
Why would God create such a vast galaxy, universe, and space? If He wanted to only create one planet with intelligent life He would have stopped with our solar system.
God is an artist, so why would any artist stop with one painting of life?

Also, God did not tell us that if the existance of the Earth were to be put on a 24 hour clock… humans would have only existed for the last 30 seconds of it. He also did not tell us about the dinosaurs or the other 50 billion+ species that have been on Earth. Humans figured it out for themselves, just like we are going to find life on other planets some day!

actually god did create life, other than us. we arent the only planet with life. keep in mind that there are things we arent capable of understanding..
